La Turennerie.

My grandma is a little bit of a hoarder. She has kept ALL of her children's clothes and accessories, turning her basement into a mini Value Village. During my last trip back home, my cousin and I went through the Turennerie (as we like to call it) and found the pot of gold - a rack full of funky vintage belts.

One of the three belts I managed to find - Turennerie - FREE

One of a kind AND free. Doesn't get any better than that.

Polaris at noon remix.

Thanks for sharing Elyse! This is a rare case where the remix is just as good if not better than the original

Build-up at around 2 minutes = amazing. For more, click here

Insightful Friday.

People will treat you the way you let them. There is no such thing as 'deserving' respect; you get what you demand from people.

Thanks for the insight, Natalie!

Shellac'ing.

Ladies, say hello to chip-free nails. After Googling Shellac nails, I discovered that this product is definitely a Godsend. It's a gel based product that goes on like a regular polish, but stays on like acrylics nails.

Rio Nails - Shellac Manicure - 25$

This manicure can last up to 14 days, chip free. Proof? I had it done on Sunday and it's still perfectly intact. I washed the dishes and scrubbed the bath tub and I have yet to see a single chip.  The only down side to this product is that you have to go to a salon to have it removed. Apart from that, I would say its money well spent!

Vintage treasure.

Young Janes is a vintage clothing and accessory boutique located at 203 Dalhousie Street in Ottawa.  Below is my latest kick-ass purchase.

Young Janes, 15$

The owner shops all over the world to find treasures like this one. Check out the boutique, you will not be disappointed.

Wicked Games.

Chris Isaak's Wicked Games was my favorite song as a teen. Between my heavy metal and screamo phases, I had a strangely age-inappropriate Chris Isaak phase. When I heard this cover, I died a little inside. I love James Vincent McMorrow and this song just makes me want to roll around on a beach with him.

Repeat please.

Today is the worst day because...

So apparently today is the most depressing day of the year. So if you're feeling blue, now you know why.

Click here for more information. Or listen to Daniel Powter if you're really desperate.

What will you do to make this day tolerable? I decided to wallow in self pity and eat soup. I kid. Maybe.

R.I.P

I really shouldn't have left my bike outside - now it's too late.

Poor Suzie, I hope she survives this.

Winter winter go away...

This year, I have opted for warmth over fashion - or so I thought. Thinking I would be the only girl on campus sporting Sorels, I was quite surprised at how many other people opted for the same resolution.

They are comfortable, warm and waterproof. Bring it on, winter.
